Setting up Shift Abbreviations

Modified on Tue, Sep 17 at 9:56 PM

Shift abbreviations are helpful to keep your schedule clean and organized. Setting these up is simple: type characters for your abbreviation, select an activity, and select a time span. The abbreviation will automatically show up if this rule is met.

  1. Go to Menu > Organization Setup >  Shift Abbreviations
  2. Click Add
    1. Enter the Name. (e.g. CHF)
    2. Enter the Activity. (e.g. Chief)
    3. Enter the Time Span. (e.g. 0800-1600)
      1. Or check the Include all times option. This will show this abbreviation for any time span that the activity is being used. This is helpful for Training or other general activity.
  3. Click Save
  4. Continue to add all the abbreviations

Typical abbreviations include:

  • DAY (day shift)
  • NGT (night shift)
  • Sgt DAY (Sergeant day shift)
  • Sgt NGT (Sergeant night shift)
  • LT (Lieutenant)
  • CHF (Chief)
  • TRN (Training)

Variations also can include numbers:

  • D1 (day shift 1)
  • D2 (day shift 2)
