In Hero Schedule, activities are used for various reasons including setting abbreviations on the schedule and allowing staff to know which assignments they're assigned to. These activities can be leveraged for beat coverage and task assignments.
Examples are: Patrol, SRO, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Chief, Dispatch, Office, etc.
Create Activities
- Go to Menu > Organization Setup > Activities
- Click Add Activity
- Enter the Activity Name. (e.g. Patrol)
- Enter the Parent Activity (optional)
Sub-Activities
Hero Schedule allows you to organize your department using sub-activities. For example, you may have an activity of Patrol, with activities set up under it of Patrol A, Patrol B, Patrol C. They all share the parent Activity of Patrol, but this allows you to order the activities
Sub-activities This can be helpful for a few scenarios.
- A common use is specifying one activity per 'seat', meaning the Sub-Activity represents a specific role that needs to be filled. This is common with EMS where you have a Paramedic and an EMT per truck (using Para A1 and EMT A1 sub-activities). If someone is gone for the Paramedic spot, you would have to fill that specific open 'seat' by assigning someone else to the same Para A1. This would allow it to display on the main schedule view mode of Activity.
- There are a number of different scenarios that this can be leveraged for, so feel free to ask us to help you plan this out.
