By default, if an FLSA work period is set up in Hero Schedule, shift trades are restricted to occur within that FLSA work period. This default is in place to help ensure accurate tracking of hours for overtime calculations based on your defined work period, preventing discrepancies where someone might appear short or incur unintended overtime due to a trade. In cases where no FLSA work period is set up, the trade window is limited to 7 days before and 7 days after the date of the shift being traded.
If you would like to expand the date range that shift trades can occur (for example, to two weeks, 90 days, or even up to 365 days from the shift being traded), please create a support ticket to request our team to set that up for you. When expanding the trade window, especially if it allows trades across different FLSA work periods, your agency will need to be mindful of how these trades are handled in relation to your overtime calculations to ensure they align with your internal policies and FLSA regulations.
