Employees: Getting Started with Shift Bidding
Welcome to Hero Schedule! This guide will help you get logged in and set up your account to participate in shift bidding.
Getting Logged In for the First Time
- Check Your Email: You should have received a welcome email from Hero Schedule.
- Set Your Password:
- This email will contain a button labeled “Set Password”. Click it to begin the account activation process.
- Step 1: Activate Account
- You'll be directed to a page that says: Activate Account.
- The system will send a new six-digit verification code to your email address.
- Check your inbox for an email with the content: "Your verification code is: xxxxxx".
- Enter this code on the "Activate Account" page and click Submit Code.
- Step 2: Create Password
- Once the code is verified, the page will prompt you: Code Verified. Create a password.
- Enter your chosen password in the "Set your password" field.
- Click Set Password.
- Log In:
- You’ll be redirected to the Hero Schedule login page.
- Use your username (often your email address or a pre-assigned login name) and the new password you just created to log in.
Set Up Your Phone for SMS (Text) Messaging Notifications
To receive important shift bidding notifications via text message, you'll need to add and verify your cell phone number.
- Log In to Hero Schedule.
- Navigate to Menu > My Settings.
- In the Cell phone section, click the Click to add link.
- Enter your cell phone number.
- Click Save.
- Click Send Code. A verification code will be texted to the phone number you entered.
- Enter the received code into the verification box on the "My Settings" page.
- This will verify your phone number in the system. You should see a green check mark icon, next to your phone number, confirming it's verified and can receive text messages.
- Notification Preferences: Below your verified phone number, you can choose if you wish to unsubscribe from certain text messages by deselecting the relevant checkboxes.
Configure Your Individual Notification Preferences
Tailor how you receive alerts for bidding events. Still in Menu > My Settings:
- Locate the Individual Notifications section on the page.
- For each notification type, check the Email and/or Text boxes based on your preference:
- New Bidding Started: Notifies you when a new schedule has been posted for bidding that includes you.
- Bid Opened for Me: (For sequential/sprint bidding) Notifies you when it's your specific turn to bid for a shift.
- Rank Bidding Close Warning: (For ranked-style shift bidding) If the bidding window is two days or longer, this reminder is sent when there are only 24 hours left to submit or update your ranked choices.
- Click Save Notification Changes.
Changing Your Password
If you need to change your password after your initial setup:
- Log in to Hero Schedule.
- Navigate to Menu > My Settings.
- Click on the Change Password option.
- Enter your Current Password.
- Type in your New Password.
- Confirm your New Password.
- Click Change Password.
