Employee Permissions: Change Own Shift

Modified on Thu, Jun 19 at 3:43 PM

The Change Own Shift permission allows an employee to directly edit certain details of their assigned shifts.

By default, without this permission, employees can only:

  • Initiate shift trades
  • Submit time off requests
  • Submit overtime requests
  • Edit their personal notes for their shift

When an administrator enables Change Own Shift for an employee, an additional "Edit Shift" button appears when the employee views their assigned shifts.

What an employee can change:

Once enabled, an employee can click the "Edit Shift" button and modify the following details for their own assigned shifts:

  • Activity/Beat: They can change the assigned activity for their shift.
  • Time: They can adjust the start and end times of their shift.

Employees also have the option to Reset their shift back to its original details if they've made changes they want to undo.

How to enable Change Own Shift:

  1. As an administrator, go to the employee's profile.
  2. Locate the Change Own Shift setting.
  3. Click to enable it (it will show "Yes").
  4. Click Save.
