Group-Based Bidding

Group-based bidding (also known as "Classification Bidding") allows you to simplify the bidding process for identical shifts. Here's how to set it up and how employees will interact with it:

Administrator Steps: Setting Up Group-Based Bidding

  1. Go to Set Up Schedules: Navigate to the "Set Up Schedules" section in Hero Schedule.
  2. Select or Create a Schedule: Choose an existing schedule to modify, or create a new one.
  3. Edit a Group: On the left side of the screen, locate one of your groups and click on the pencil icon next to its name.
  4. Enable "Identical Shifts in Group":
    • Check the box next to "Identical Shifts in Group."
    • Below this, use the plus or minus buttons, or type in the exact number, to specify how many shifts you want to be part of this group.
    • Click the "X" to close the dialog box.
  5. Identical Shift Properties: All shifts displayed below the first shift in that group will automatically inherit all the properties and settings of that first shift.

Employee Experience: Bidding on Groups

  1. View Available Groups: When an employee views the Bidding screen, they will see a list of shifts, where identical shifts are grouped together.
  2. Identify Group Capacity: For a group configured with identical shifts (e.g., "Forklift"), it will indicate the number of available positions (4 available)
  3. Select the Group: When the employee selects the box next to this group, it will automatically select all available shifts within that group (e.g., all four "Forklift" shifts).
  4. Confirm Selection: The employee needs to click "save" to confirm and save their selection.

This feature allows employees to quickly select many shifts or positions with just a few clicks, making the bidding process more efficient.
